Memorial benefit:
- The memorial benefit aims to assist in meeting the cost of the unveiling ceremony.
- On the death of either a principal member or eligible spouse, a Memorial Benefit will be paid
- The memorial benefit may only be taken as an additional benefit to an existing funeral policy.
- The memorial benefit can be taken by individuals or groups, companies or voluntary corporate, burial society or funeral parlours, churches or Stockvels.
- The memorial benefit will assist in the cost of unveiling ceremony.

Termination Of The Benefit.
THE Memorial Benefit shall cease on the occurrence of one of the following:
- The Principal Member and Spouse have both claimed for the benefit.
- The Principal Member ceasing to pay premium subject to the grace period.
- Termination or cancellation of the plan by either the policyholder or Motsweding itself.
Repatriation benefit.
THE Memorial Benefit shall cease on the occurrence of one of the following:
- In the event of the death of any covered life (principal member , spouse, eligible children, wider children and /or extended family members) under a policy, assistance can be sought through a number that renders a service to the bereaved family with the necessary funeral related arrangements on 011 778 8000
- This benefit may only be taken as an additional benefit to an existing funeral plan.

Repatriation Of Mortal Remains
THE Memorial Benefit shall cease on the occurrence of one of the following:
- All cost related to the repatriation of mortal remains of a life assureds choice, closest to the place of burial, The place of death must fall within the territory and the place of burial must fall within the republic of South Africa.
- "Territory" means the republic of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana Swaziland, Lesotho and Mozambique. (South of the 22o parallel).
- Transportation arrangement for a single relative to accompany the mortal remains to the nearest funeral home of choice closest to the place of burial.
- The name and identity number of the deceased, address where death occurred and the policy number.
- The name, address and telephone number where the life assured can be reached.
- In the event of the life assureds' representatives making their own arrangements and incurring repatriation cost without referral to Motsweding , Motsweding intermediary service will not be held responsible for these cost, although Motsweding may still give the life assured other assistance in terms of the above.
IN THE CASE OF THE DEATH OF ANY LIFE ASSURED, THE LIFE ASSURED SHALL BE ENTITLED TO CONTACT MOSWEDING ON THE ABOVE NUMBER AS SOON AS PRACTABLE AND TO FIRNISH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
ACCIDENT BENEFIT.
- in the event that the death of a person covered is a direct and solely a result of bodily injury caused by accidental means, an accidental death benefit will be payable in addition to the basic funeral benefit.
- Death must have taken place within 30 days of the accident and the event must be the primary cause of death.
- Benefit payable in respect of accidental death in addition to the basic funeral benefits.
- This benefit may only be taken as an additional benefit to an existing funeral plan.
EXCLUSIONS.
No payment will be made if the death was directly or indirectly caused or accelerated by:
- Injury sustained or contracted as direct or indirect result of partition in illegal acts, e.g. burglary, robbery.
- Self-inflicted injuries whether the insured person is of sound or unsound mind, including attempted suicide.
- An event direct attributable to the insured person having excessive alcohol, narcotics, drugs or poison.
- Participation in aviation, other than a fare-paying passenger.
- Involvement in any naval, military or air force service or operations.
- Engaging in hazardous pursuits
- Deliberate exposure to exceptional danger or the insured person's criminal act.
- War, invasion, acts o foreign enemies.
- Any loss not caused as a result of an accident.
- Radioactive contamination
- (List not conclusive).
Termination.
The accidental death benefit shall cease upon the occurrence of any of the following:
- A. Termination or cancellation of the plan by either the policyholder or Motsweding.
- B. On withdrawal of the principal member from the plan or attaining the cessation age.
- Dissolution of the policyholder.
- Deaths of the person covered and the settlement of their claims.
- Premium in respect of the benefit cease.
Grocery Benefit.
The accidental death benefit shall cease upon the occurrence of any of the following:
- On death of a Principal Member, a grocery benefit of R 12 000.00 will be provided to the surviving dependents of the deceased.
- The grocery benefit of R 12 000.00 will be paid over a period of one (1) year in annuity payments of R1 000.00 per month.
- This benefit may only be taken as an additional benefit to an existing funeral policy.
- The grocery benefit can be taken by individuals or group, companies or voluntary corporate, burial society or funeral parlor, churches or Stockvels.
BENEFIT.
The benefit covers the principal member only as described in the benefit schedule table below:

MEMBERSHIP
Principal Member:Any individual who is in possession of a current bank account that allows debit order or group schemes that will pay bulk premium. It can also be an existing Principal Member of a current Motsweding policy. The member must be a resident in South Africa.
- The minimum and maximum entry age for the principal member is 18 and 94 years respectively.
- The waiting period will be 6 months for members below 75 years and 12 months for members above 74 years.
- The waiting period will apply from the date of the first debit order being honoured, in respect of death due to natural causes.
- The principal member must complete the application form.
- Participants will be issued with participation certificate
SPECIAL CONDITION
- Principal Member should not exceed the maximum entry age as described in the table above
- Cover will only commence from the date of first premium being honoured
- Premium is paid in advance to Motsweding before the 7th of every month by the policy holder at the premium rate and premium frequency as specified in the table above
- upon the death of any person insured under this policy, notice of the claim together with all the necessary supporting documentation required by Motsweding must be send to Motsweding within six(6) months of the date of death.
- The claim notification period is six (6) months and claims submitted after this period will not be honoured.
- Payments shall be made from the commencement date to the date of termination of this policy.
TERMINATION.
The Grocery Benefit shall cease on the occurrence of one of the following
- The Principal Member having claimed for the benefit.
- The principal member ceasing to pay premiums subject to the grace period.
- Termination or cancellation of the plan by either the policy holder or Motsweding itself.
- Motsweding must be informed immediately upon the death of any life insured under a Motsweding funeral benefit plan.
